HCC Diploma in Psychodynamic Counselling 2012.

 

The HCC Diploma Training leads to the award of a Diploma in Psychodynamic Counselling. The course is accredited by the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP).

During the course the aim is to help trainees acquire the knowledge, understanding and skills which will enable them to practise confidently, proficiently and safely as counsellors. 

The 2 year  part- time Diploma has different aspects:

A. Theoretical seminars

B. Skills practice sessions

C. Experiential group (6 terms)

D. Supervised clinical practice

E. Personal therapy

F. Academic assignments

The first four components of the course are provided by the Highgate Counselling Centre. Theoretical seminars, skills practice sessions and experiential group meetings take place in Muswell Hill (but not necessarily at the counselling centre). Clinical practice takes place at the centre in Muswell Hill. Supervision groups meet either at the centre or in the supervisor’s consulting rooms.

In order to be eligible for the award of the Diploma each trainee must complete 150 counselling hours and 50 hours work based learning. There is tutorial support throughout the training. The cost of all of this is included within the course fees.

Personal therapy is a requirement of the course, the cost of which is not included in the fee. Trainees must be in at least once a week personal psychodynamic psychotherapy until all of the course requirements have been completed.
